NEW LOCATION FOR 2012!

We're moving to Lock 3 in Downtown Akron! The site provides direct access to the Towpath Trail and free, convenient parking in the adjacent parking deck, which holds 650 vehicles. Registration will still include breakfast, lunch, live music and more. Details on the new routes will be posted soon and registration will open before March 1.

So why the change? The Towpath Trail is now complete in Summit County, and the new site lets us utilize more of the towpath and be part of a yearlong, countywide celebration of the trail. Lock 3 also has a lot to offer, including about 30 permanent flush toilets (so no porta-potties on site) and a large concession stand, which we can use for prep and food service. There is also plenty of storage and a great stage for live music

THANK YOU!

Thanks to our riders, volunteers and sponsors for their help today. Thanks to Nathan Hedges for great live music on the Howe Meadow stage. Thanks to Cuyahoga Valley National Park for use of the event site. And thanks to the Metro Parks rangers, who were in uniform on their own time to keep everything running smoothly.

Please share your feedback, both positive thoughts and constructive criticisms, so we can keep up the good work and continue improving: info@stompbikeride.com

NOTICES FOR RIDERS

PART OF RIVERVIEW ROAD CLOSED: Construction of a roundabout has Riverview Road closed at Smith Road, about a mile north of the Merriman Road and Portage Path intersection. This does not affect any of the cycling routes, but participants traveling north to Howe Meadow from Akron should instead take Akron-Peninsula Road to Ira Road, turn left onto Ira and then right on Riverview Road.

WHEN TO GET THERE: 63-mile riders leave Howe Meadow between 7:30 and 9 a.m. 25-mile riders leave between 9 and 10:30 a.m. 10-mile riders leave between 10:30 a.m. and noon. No riders shall leave Howe Meadow before 7:30. Remember, STOMP is not a race, so take your time and have fun.

DON'T FORGET: We have live music by Nathan Hedges from 1 to 3 p.m., appearances by Cheeks the chipmunk and Acme Fresh Market's Buck the dog, and on-site displays from the Akron Zoo, Metro Parks, 91.3 The Summit and more. And be sure to stop by the Cascade Subaru tent to register to WIN two new Raleigh Detour bikes from Century Cycles! No purchase necessary.
